Everyone needs to know how to pump their own gas

Women sometimes over complicate things. When it comes to our cars we can sometimes get overwhelmed with the thought of doing anything to it. There are women who do not know how to pump their own gas, even the mention of red diesel makes them nervous. Their husbands always make sure they have enough and pump it for them. Well that is great but if the women get caught in traffic or get lost they may end up having to pump there own gas. It is not difficult or time consuming.

1. When the gas in the tank is getting low a light will come on. It will be on the dashboard where the speedometer is. The needle will be pointed toward the E. A gas station will then be needed immediately. If you have never pumped your own gas you may not know which side the tank is on. Before you pull up to the gas pump you need to stop and get out to see which side it is on. Once you know you then need to pull up to the gas pump so that the side of the car the gas tank is on is on the same side. Make sure to put you car in park and then turn it off.

2. Go to the gas tank and open the little door. You will see a knob to be turned. Turn it to the left and pull it out. It may be connected with a cord. If not just set it on top of your trunk. You then need to put your card in the pump. It will ask you to select the grade of gas you need. Hit the one all the way to the left. This will be regular gas and should be fine for just about any vehicle. Take the nozzle out of the pump. It will look like a gun with a hose attached. Place the barrel of the pump into the hole of your gas tank. Pull up on the lever under the handle of the “gun” only once it is all the way inside of the tank. Watch the numbers on the pump. This tells you how many gallons you are putting in and how much it costs.

3. Once it has reached the amount you want to pay let go of the lever, place the “gun” back on the pump, put the cap back on your tank, shut the door, and be on your way.
